Founded nearly 35 years ago by Bob Rosencrans (“Rosy”) and Mike Wagner, Mike & Rosy’s Deli is one of Springfield’s oldest locally owned and operated restaurants. Seeing a need for a local alternative to hamburgers and pizza, Mike & Rosy decided to purchase the former Standard Oil gas station at the corner of McCreight Avenue and North Plum Street in March 1977 to build a sports themed deli, specializing in unique steamed sandwiches.
From its inception Mike & Rosy’s has focused on serving Springfield residents, Wittenberg University and visitors to the area. In 1981, that focus lead to the first of three expansions in its history, adding a dining room to the west side of the building. In 1983 an expansion of the kitchen & service areas was completed. Finally in 2006, in response to customers suggestions & requests, they celebrated the grand opening of Rosy’s Pressbox. Believing strongly in supporting the community that helped them succeed, only local contractors and suppliers have been used to meet the needs of their growing business throughout its 35 year history.
Today, Mike & Rosy’s continues to be one of “the” places to go when visiting Springfield. Mike & Rosy’s looks forward to serving you on your next visit to their first class facility serving quality products today!
